Which certification models still hold
We evaluate our own assessment, in public, because an examining body that will not sit still for a question has forgotten who it is for.
The questions are practical. Does a twenty-minute video exam still discriminate Foundation from Practitioner? Does the free five-question demonstration help a candidate choose, or does it teach them the wrong shape of the paper? Where does camera-on checking fail a candidate who is performing the task honestly?
Early comparisons favour the performance-based model we began with. Candidates who can talk about a skill and cannot perform it are still being caught, which is the point of the exercise. The failures we are more concerned about are the opposite: a capable candidate undone by a camera, a room, or a connection, rather than by the questions.
Those findings go back into the instructions and into the charity support, not only into a report. An evaluation that does not change the sitting is a hobby.
We publish the open findings on the same pages as the certificates. Trust is a result. It is not a typeface.
