Three domains, one continuum
A learner may walk from Computing Literacy into Data Sense and on into AI Fluency, or go deep in a single domain. The certificates stay stackable.
From 2022 we stopped presenting the three domains as neighbouring products. They are a pathway. Computing Literacy is the ground. Data Sense is the judgement about what the machine is showing. AI Fluency is the judgement about a system that answers back. Each one is examinable on its own. Together they describe a working digital professional, including the professional who will never write code.
Employers, professional bodies, and further-education institutions were reading the certificates in growing numbers, and they asked for a map rather than a menu. The map is now how we talk about progression. Intermediate Computing Literacy is still the paper most offices ask about first. It is no longer the end of the sentence.
Specialising remains respectable. A candidate who wants only Data Analyst (Applied) is not missing a moral duty to collect the full set. Stackable means the next certificate recognises the last one. It does not mean a subscription.
This is the structure we are proudest of, because it took sixteen years of refusing to rename the same course every time the industry found a new adjective.
